Mushroom and Brie Tart

If you’re looking to impress your guests at an intimate gathering, this mushroom and brie tart is the answer! Not only can it be served as a delectable appetizer or main meal, but its combination of flavorsome mushrooms, creamy brie cheese, and herbs will have them talking about it for weeks. This flavorful masterpiece may look difficult to make—but don’t let that shy you away from giving it a try; tarts are incredibly easy to assemble so anyone can create their own beautiful work of art in no time!

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 lb. of sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz. of brie cheese, sliced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon of water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Spread the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it fits perfectly into your 9-inch tart pan.
  3. Pierce the bottom of the pastry with a fork multiple times for even baking.
  4. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  5. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and are browned, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the chopped thyme and rosemary to the skillet and stir to combine.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Arrange the sliced brie cheese over the bottom of the puff pastry.
  9. Spoon the mushroom mixture over the brie cheese.
  10. Brush the edges of the puff pastry with the beaten egg and water mixture.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up.
  12. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
